NFL players Louis Murphy, Jr., Isaiah Rodgers, Damontre Moore, Justin Layne, and Jason Moore, along with former World Middleweight Boxing Champion Winky Wright and Carl Brown, one of the founders of For Us By Us (FUBU) have partnered with the Community Health Centers of Pinellas Foundation in the CHCP Super Healthcare Heroes Virtual 5K. The CHCP Super Healthcare Heroes Virtual 5K is a real 5K event, but it is on your own terms. You choose your own course, what time you start, and the method in which you would like to walk, run, or simply move your body.
“We are thrilled to have some incredible celebrity partners on board to support our foundation’s first Super Healthcare Heroes Virtual 5K charity event,” said Tammy Atmore, Executive Director of CHCP Foundation. “This fun and exciting virtual Super 5K is a great way for communities across the country to come together and support our brave and steadfast healthcare workers. Plus, since it is virtual, it’s a safe way for people to participate in a 5K event together and exercise.”
“Coming together as a community during this time is needed now more than ever before! I am excited to be one of the team captains in the CHCP Healthcare Heroes Virtual 5K as it kicks off during Super Bowl week,” said Indianapolis Colts NFL Player Isaiah Rodgers. “It’s so important that we honor the real super stars who continue to put their lives on the line each day to help those who are struggling to survive COVID-19,” stated Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Player Justin Layne. “So we invite everyone to join Team Rodgers and Team Layne. Let’s get out and move together for this great cause!”
The Super Healthcare Heroes Virtual 5K charity event will raise money for the Community Health Centers of Pinellas Foundation to provide healthcare and wellness programs to underserved communities. These services are essential to create a healthy community, especially during this unprecedent time when people need to take better care of their health. A portion of the proceeds from each team will support the foundations of the Celebrity Team Captains that develop, inspire, and empower our young people in the community.
“2020 proved that together we can accomplish WHATEVER we need to move forward as a community…for us, by us,” stated Carl Brown, FUBU Co-Founder.
The CHCP Super Healthcare Heroes Virtual 5K kicks off today and will run through March 31st. Since it is virtual, anyone from around the country can register to participate and join his/her favorite celebrity team and show support to our healthcare heroes.
